Priorities
Everyone is welcome in
Canal Winchester.
Whether you’ve lived here forever, just moved in, or are visiting our local businesses and festivals — you should feel welcome here. We need a city council that meets the needs of all Canal Winchester residents and helps make our city a great place to live and spend time.
Big decisions require multiple perspectives.
The best solutions come from people with different points of view working together. I will work with anyone to solve problems and improve our city — even those who disagree with me. The one thing I will not compromise on is my core belief that we should care about everyone.
If you’re not here to help, get out.
Local government should be made up of elected leaders who want to help residents live their best life. If you’re not running for office to make a positive impact on your community, then why are you running at all?
Accessible council members
Elected officials work for the people. I want to maintain open lines of communication with Canal Winchester residents to help inform decisions impacting our city. I want to commit to having an open dialogue with residents for projects big and small.
Policies
Managing smart growth
Central Ohio is one of the fastest growing regions in the country, and Canal Winchester is one of the last frontiers for residential development in Franklin County. We need to have a city council that can balance the demand for housing in our region with the need for development that keeps current residents in mind.
Preserving the unique history of a canal town
I want to make sure future development preserves the unique history of our downtown and agricultural roots in both style and purpose.
Programs for all ages
Let’s make sure Canal Winchester is a great place to live for residents 0 to 99 years old. I want to improve our senior center, strengthen the CWJRD and its offerings for youth and adults, and create more opportunities with visual arts for residents of all ages.
Sidewalks and safe streets
Whether it’s putting in more sidewalks or mitigating dangerous traffic areas, let’s make sure walkers, bikers, and drivers can all get to where they’re going safely! There is no one-size-fits-all solution to creating safer roadways, so let’s make sure we utilize options that work.
Strong connection with our schools
What happens in our city impacts what happens in the classroom, and vice versa. I want to make sure the school boards, districts, and teachers affected by Canal Winchester City Council decisions feel heard and supported as new projects develop.
